About this condition
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer that starts in the white blood cells (lymphocytes) which help the body fight infections. In MCL, abnormal lymphocytes grow uncontrollably in the lymph nodes and can spread to other areas like the bone marrow, spleen, and digestive system. Symptoms may include swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, fever, and weight loss. Treatment often involves a combination of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and sometimes stem cell transplants. While MCL can be challenging to treat, new therapies are improving outcomes for many patients.
